Supporting Breastfeeding Women since 1979

Pip

I happily breast fed our 1st son 7 yrs ago, for over 2 yrs....I read up on extended feeding, and decided to let him take the lead, so I didn't stop him before he out grew the need...emotionally and physically....our breast feeding relationship ended well...

Now here I am doing it all again with our 2nd son, now 25 weeks...and intend to do the same...I feel privileged to be having this journey again, and am finding it all so much easier 2nd time round...I joined La Leche League both times for their fantastic support....and now I have come across your site.

I had a very traumatic birth both times, 1st being em c section after failed ventouse and 3 days labour, then 2nd birth VBAC and 3rd degree tear, and re admitted after 1 day home due to bad info about salt baths from midwifes, stitches dissolved... all eventually healed naturally... i think breast feeding made me sit and rest and gave my body the time needed to recover properly and establish feeding ....

Good luck to every mother out there, and although it sometimes has its difficult days, I feel I am giving the best start ever !!
